Los Gigantes actually means “The Giants” in Spanish, and this very popular resort takes its name from the enormous cliffs that overlook it. Located on the southwest coast of Tenerife, Los Gigantes gets so much sunshine it is claimed it gets more hours of this holiday weather than anywhere else in the island. It is certainly usually sunny and warm there.

Los Gigantes is situated down the coast from where the picturesque mountain village of Masca’s main ravine ends in a beach, and regular boat trips run to this location and back. Whale-watching cruises also operate from the Los Gigantes marina, and other fascinating wildlife that can be spotted from such boats includes dolphins, flying fish and ospreys. Diving is also popular and the resort has its own dive centre and dive clubs.

Los Gigantes is ideal for tourists and the luxurious Abama hotel, with what is said to be the best golf course on the island, is within easy reach. Los Gigantes has been developing since 1960s and every year it is increasing its popularity with holiday-makers who come to Tenerife. In summer it is mostly families that enjoy spending their holidays in Los Gigantes, whilst in winter it is mainly older people that come here for a break in the sun. The pace of life is far less hectic than in resorts like Las Américas, and the peace and tranquility of Los Gigantes makes it ideal for families and for elderly people.

Los Gigantes is very popular with tourists of all nationalities, and recently it is the Russians who have discovered the resort. Holiday-makers who have enjoyed their time spent in Los Gigantes often return again and again. Most of the tourists take self-catering holidays and rent apartments in the area.

Because they are not staying in “all inclusive” hotels means that these holiday-makers will be mainly eating and drinking at the resort’s bars and restaurants, as well as shopping in Los Gigantes. This is great for local business, and because so many tourists keep coming back to the resort it means that business-owners there can rely on customers who will return and spread the word. There are many businesses that run excursions and cruises from the Los Gigantes marina, which in turn brings lots of customers to the local bars and restaurants nestled around the picturesque port of Los Gigantes.
A newly re-opened beach of Los Gigantes with the breath-taking view of the Cliffs is another great asset of the resort ideal for beach lovers and families.

Although Los Gigantes is a peaceful holiday resort, plenty of singers and music acts provide entertainment at night at local bars and restaurants. Los Gigantes, of course, has a traditional Spanish square, which is situated by the church. At fiesta times this is where all the action takes place.

Regular bus services run from Los Gigantes to Puerto de la Cruz in the north of Tenerife and to and from Las Américas and Los Cristianos in the south. The new highway which is being built will eventually provide an even faster connection to the Reina Sofía airport, and this will result in an even greater amount of people coming to Los Gigantes.

Although it is easy enough to get to and from the resort, many people have discovered that all they want can be found in Los Gigantes itself. So if you are looking to buy a business in Los Gigantes you can count with a steady trade in a beautiful and slightly tranquil environment and a high rate of returning customers of all nationalities.
